It's been a blazing hot minute since I posted a blog!
How is it already Spring when it feels like January just started!?
I celebrated my 60th birthday in early January, and am committed to celebrating this milestone ALL YEAR! So, it's okay if it's already the middle of March!
I've been busy and creative and finding joy, awe, and wonder, and I want to spend the rest of this year (and beyond!) doing more of it.

I have a surprise announcement for a little later in the month, so I'll be posting a bit more frequently here in the coming weeks. In the meantime, I have some news to share so I thought I'd do a little "kitchen sink" blog post to let you all know what's going on.
[Aside: That song by Four None Blondes has been in my head on repeat latey ;) It is seriously something I will belt out in the car if it comes up in one of my playlists...and of course it's on at least two of them!... It's a fitting anthem for the times, I think!]
First of all, it's amazing to think that a whole year has passed since the launch of my course, "Love Your Imperfect Art Journal" with Willa Workshops!

"Love Your Imperfect Art Journal" is designed to be a reference and a guide to your art journaling creativity and practice. I created it to help you experience art journaling as a mindfulness practice, allow you to let go of perfection and embrace the unknown, and provide you with tons of encouragement. With playfulness and curiosity as our guide, we can combine simple techniques (and lots of layers!!!) into beautiful pages that we love. There are over 10 hours of video, lots of PDF printables,
and an in depth supply list of all my favorite media.
Next, I'm so excited to be teaching again at A Work of Heart Studio in San Jose,
Saturday, March 29th from 2-7PM.
We'll be making Mixed Media Artist Trading Cards.
This space is so inspiring to teach in, and I've always enjoyed the experience. I know you will, too! We'll have 5 hours to create several art papers to use in collaging the cards! I'm bringing some of my own handmade collage papers as well as some curated collage materials, along with all the supplies we will need. I'm loading up the car again, friends, and hitting the road to San Jose! I hope to see you there!

Then, in April, I'm traveling to North Carolina! What a wonderful time of year to visit this beautiful place! I'll be retreating with friends for five days, so this adventure is definitely part of my year of celebration! Plus, I'll be back at Margaret Lane Gallery for an Art Play Date on
April 13th from 1-5PM!
We will be creating Painted Layers Postcards, a project from my book,
"Share Your Joy: Mixed Media Shareable Art."
If you live nearby or are up for a road trip to Hillsborough, NC, I'd love to see you there! I'm very excited to visit this delightful colonial town and create in community, again!

Last but definitely not least, I am honored to be providing an art experience for a "slow travel" tour in Ubria, Italy - Orvieto, to be exact.

I've dreamed of creating and teaching for a traveling tour just like this, and it's happening during my year of celebration. I could not be more grateful and excited!
This tour is brought to you by Italian Excursion, who does all the planning and makes every arrangement for you so you can just live like a local in this beautiful hilltop village. All you have to do is get yourself to Orvieto, but we have plenty of advice for that too.
We'll be there October 1-8 this year! It's going to be awe-inspiring! You'll enjoy amazing meals, wine tasting, sight seeing, creative time, and more.
My goal is to facilitate noticing and seeing what surrounds you in a rich and unique way, that goes beyond just sight-seeing, so that your creativity can augment your travel experience. We'll use a view finder to create thumbnail sketches, create mini collages, and even "travel journal" into coptic bound sketchbooks that I will bind for each person especially for the tour. Delight in the experience of an Italian excursion enriched
by seeing it in ways you've never looked before.

I could not leave you without showing you one of the possibilities for our accommodations, an Italian farmhouse turned inn: Locanda Rosati. Doesn't this look absolutely fabulous!?
Space is very limited and you'll find all the details by clicking on the link below.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for reading my news!
I really appreciate your interest in my creative endeavors and I hope to see you in person or in class sometime soon!
XOXOXO
Sarah
